Under both Simon Kennedy and his Dubplate Disco guise, Simon has been making huge waves in the Nu-Disco scene over the last 2 years. Simon has been DJing for over 3 decades, a passionate & avid record collector, he started off his career in South London where he became hooked on by his older sister's love of soul, funk & disco. She experienced the soul-funk & disco all-dayer scene 1st hand, giving Simon a good grounding in this fantastic musical genre from an early age. The resurgence of  the Disco re-edits scene has felt very natural to him, as he has always played and loved this music. Simon started playing parties & clubs in and around south London at a time when house music was taking off.
Simon was flooded with guest slots at events around the country and was heavily involved in the 80's early pirate radio scene which played a key part in establishing dance history.
More recently he has been, running his own label Dubplate Disco Recordings and also released many tracks on Tropical Disco, and other labels, and is a prolific producer of some truly stunning soulful-house, disco edits gaining him a huge following
His track  “Pick up” with Yam Who (Andy Williams of Midnight riot) was a smash hit in 2018 and has been the biggest selling track on Midnight Riot records to date.  This track hit #1in Traxsource Main Top 100 and smashed  #6 seat in Traxsource's Soul Funk & Disco Best of 2018 chart.
Simon has produced some stunning tracks, both as a solo artist and also in collaboration with Sartorial (Tropical Disco Records). He’s made so many quality tunes and has lots more to come.  Simon Kennedy & Sartorial's production 'Welcome to the Disco' was ranked at #33 in Traxsource's Nu - Disco Best of 2018 chart and Simon Kennedy's  'São Paulo To Peckham' rocked the #4 spot in Traxsource's Soulful House chart position.
Simon released  “You Lost Me” with Sartorial in April 2019 which hit the #2 Spot in Traxsource Soulful House chart and was listed in DJ charts such as DJ Spen and Rhemi.
In the last 2 months, Simon has released 'Looking Up to You' - the biggest-selling track on yet another Record Label - Dallinghoo Records. This record reached #2 on Traxsource's Soulful House chart.
Yet again, another massive Tune listed in an incredible  36 DJ charts on Traxsource including Booker T, Bobby & Steve and Sartorial. His latest release Deja hit #10 inTraxsource's Soul Funk Disco chart.
