Roger S.
Born and raised in NYC, Roger Sanchez attended the Manhattan School of Art and Design and is an accomplished graphic designer. He first approached Easy Street to create cover art for the label’s 12†and album releases, but always returned on a regular basis seeking out the latest test pressings and new releases. He began DJing at age 13 and the “S-Man†released his first underground club hit, "Luv Dancin," in 1989 (Strictly Rhythm). From there, Roger concentrated his talents on record production and founded Narcotic Records in 1994, where he collaborated with Junior Sanchez and DJ Sneak under the name, S-Men. He was also achieving notoriety as a remixer and reproduced tracks for Michael Jackson, Diana Ross, and Baby Face. However, it wasn't until 2001 that S-Man finally released his first album production, First Contact. Today, Roger S. is hard at work DJing, producing and remixing (he won a Grammy for the remix of No Doubt's "Hella Good" in 2003) and also overseeing his Release Yourself mix-LPs, parties and radio show. “The Underground Dance Party†represents Roger’s selection of his favorite Easy Street tracks (together with 2 of his own productions) mixed in his own unique and highly distinctive style.
